Cheap Worldwide Travel Insurance

Insuring Your Travel on a Shoe String

Cheap travel insurance isn’t necessarily about who’s asking the lowest premium. Cheap travel insurance is about knowing your choices, perusing all the options and discarding the coverage you don’t need.

If you end up with cheap travel insurance that doesn’t help you out of an overseas medical or evacuation jam, you haven’t gotten a bargain.

However, if you’re a U.S. resident traveling within the United States you aren’t going to need travel insurance that offers medical evacuation coverage.

Travel insurance can also offer much more than medical care while you’re traveling.

Some of the other features of some travel insurance plans are translation services, travel assistance, lost luggage, trip interruption, replacement of lost or damaged eyeglasses, repair of damaged or stolen rental vehicle, emergency medical evacuation coverage, flight cancellation due to bankruptcy of the airline, flight accident and terrorism.

For purposes of comparison there are four levels of travel insurance coverage – the most all-encompassing being total trip coverage. Some of these plans have a coverage ceiling as high as $500,000. Along with the above-mentioned travel catastrophes these plans also provide payment for return of traveler’s remains to home in the event of death, as well as emergency dental coverage and reimbursement for financial default of your travel agency or any other provider of your trip, such as cruise company.

The next level down, comprehensive, can provide up to $1 million in coverage with some carriers. The range of coverage incidents and the ceilings are often a little lower than total trip coverage, however.

When it comes to cheap travel insurance there are two options. You can choose the economy level of trip coverage or, if you travel extensively, you may do better paying an annual premium.

You can also end up with cheap travel insurance if you mix and match your various issues, choosing only the coverage you need.

You can, for instance, choose to purchase only flight ticket protection (in case of trip interruption, for reimbursement of your non-refundable ticket). Perhaps you might want to purchase AD&D (accidental death and dismemberment) coverage in case of airline accident

Or you might want to add, or purchase alone, some cheap travel insurance for medical care, and/or medical evacuation. You may choose to add reimbursement protection for lost or delayed baggage.

Cheap travel insurance is about making good choices and buying only what you need as you need it. It’s also about comparison shopping.

How to File for Unemployment Insurance in Canada

Filing for Unemployment Insurance in Canada

Any Canadian citizen who loses their employment position in Canada must within a period of 4 weeks after losing their job claim unemployment benefits; otherwise they will have left it too late.

There are certain procedures to be followed when making the application – they are as follows:

You must get an application form from Service Canada who manages the unemployment insurance fund in Canada. They have an online website or can be contacted at their employment centre at the number 1 (866) 783-5567. There is probably a Service Canada Centre in your area where you can collect an application form personally.

Remember that you must take along your identification. All information relating to your previous employment must be provided preferably with documentation obtained from your previous employers. These details would contain information as to how long you had worked there and what remuneration you acquired during the tenure of your employment.

Should you encounter any problems with your previous employer regarding this vital information, contact the service center in your area as to how you should proceed with your claim.

Remember that in order to obtain any benefits you must give detailed and accurate information on the application form as to why you were dismissed. Your application will be judged on its merits and may be approved or rejected.

Should you be successful with your claim and receive unemployment benefits and have to leave Canada report this situation to your Service Canada Center, otherwise penalties such as a fine could be imposed on you and this could result in a loss of any financial benefits you may have been awarded.

How to Find The Very Best Credit Card Offer

Check your mailbox on any given day and you are likely to find one, two, three or more offers to get a credit card. Most offers on the surface look pretty good, but you’ll have to do some digging before you find one that is a real hit.

Are you considering opening up a new credit card account? If so, let’s take a look at what makes a worthwhile offer for card seekers everywhere.

No Annual Fee – It simply amazes me that anyone would still pay an annual fee to use a credit card. Oh, sure, that pretty jet black or platinum card certainly looks exclusive but is it worth your while to pay $30 or more per year for the privilege of using a particular card? I doubt it!

No Rewards – You must be kidding me…no rewards offered? With credit card competition at a fevered pitch, it only makes sense that you be rewarded for the troubles of using a card. Most cards will assign you one point for every dollar spent and those points can be redeemed later on for gift cards, movie tickets, hotel stays, airline miles, you name it. Better are those cards that give extra points for select purchases such as visits to the drug store, for groceries, or for trips to the gas station.

Low APR: Does it Matter – Granted, if you pay off your credit card every month then the APR you are being charged simply will not matter. 0% or 30%, you still avoid fees that can sock the average person.

Balance Transfer Option – What decent card doesn’t give a balance transfer option to card holders? Better yet, will that card allow you to transfer funds without paying a transfer fee? No card is worth getting if you are assessed a transfer fee even if the APR is fixed for a certain amount of time.

Other Amenities – Travel insurance and roadside assistance are valuable options if offered for free. On the other hand, credit monitoring services and credit card insurance are not worth your trouble and you probably will find that fees will be assessed to you account if you were to sign up. Simply stay away from cards promising nifty amenities that cost you plenty in the end.

So, check out the fine print and apply for those cards meeting your litmus test. If they fail to give you something better than the average card then simply shred the offer and move on to the next one.
